There’s never been a better time to visit Myanmar
Myanmar is fast becoming one of the best places to visit in Southeast Asia. Due to the recent political changes and the growing economy this less explored country is a tourist’s dream.
There is still a real feel of authenticity to travel in Myanmar because not many tourists have been fortunate enough to explore it yet. At first one might think that because this fantastic country has only recently opened up to tourism that the travel would be very ‘rough and ready’ – that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Myanmar has some of the finest hotels I have stayed in. There are the big luxury chain hotels there that have taken advantage of the colonial buildings built during the time of the British. You only have to take a look at The Strand in Yangon to see exactly the type of hotel you can look forward to.
Luxury travel in Myanmar has never been easier, and if you’re looking for something ultra-luxurious (or just want some serious travel inspiration), then I highly recommend that you take a look at The Luxury Holiday Company. They tailor-make every trip, but have some great sample itineraries that are designed to showcase some of their favourite regions and hotels – making sure you see Myanmar in all its glory and at the same time travel in style and luxury.
I have been fortunate enough to visit Myanmar on 4 different occasions and people constantly ask me the reason for visiting so much, it’s a very simple question to answer. Here are 3 reasons why I have fallen in love with Myanmar.
If you’ve been there then you’ll know that Burmese people are some of the kindest people you will meet. From the moment you step off the plane you feel instantly welcomed and people can never do enough for you. The friendliness of Burmese people is one of the main reasons for visiting.
You can stroll along the streets in Yangon and be amazed by the amount of mouth-watering food that is on offer. Fresh samosas are there each morning and are absolutely delicious. You can’t miss out on the most famous Burmese dish, Mohinga, if you visit. Then there’s my personal favourite – the tealeaf salad – it’s something that I feast on each and every day if I visit.
The Amazing Sites
In Myanmar you are spoilt for choice when deciding which mind-blowing site to visit next. There is everything from pagodas to circular trains around the city, lakes to the most amazing collection of temples you can find in Bagan. If you’re on a luxury tour then I am sure that you will be lucky enough to fit everything in to your trip – I hope you love it as much as I do.
